Friday

I love fridays…
They are white in color (according to Hindu astrology).
It’s a day when you feel chilled out… Cause weekend is coming… I hate weekends (especially in mumbai, when everybody is free on sat-sun and the whole weekend becomes toooooo busy… )
So ya, I would love it, if the week will start on Friday… and wed-thu becomes holiday… i know you must be thinking taht then everything will become same, the same system will come and we will hate friday then… but imagine… it will take a while to feel bad about friday… and as i told you before that friday is a tranquil day so it would not make us uncomfortable… for a fact monday represents moon and it should be calm as well but as we all know that moon has its moods so… you can’t trust on it as such… and then come tuesday… which is again red… very very hyper…. where as friday belongs to Santoshi maa (go to youtube for that famous Santoshi maa bhajan). Santosh mean contempt … so there is no way you ca feel bad about friday…

Arna’s Children

Juliano Mer Khamis’ documentary on his mother, Arna, an activist against the Israeli occupation who founded an alternative education system for Palestinian children.
I went to watch this film at Prithvi theater by Vikalp (Vikalp: Films for Freedom in collaboration with Prithvi Theatre).
The film talks about this Jew female Arna and her initiative, struggle to give an alternative way to the Palestinian children to fight against war and unjust… In the movie one can see the kids growing to become adult soldier and then martyr.
The best part I liked about the film was that how nicely Palestinian accepted Arna… although she was a Jew. Secondly, in documentary one can see easily that how badly war had affected the people… mothers are telling blatantly that there son should go…fight…and die.
The Palestinians are still strong…fighting against Israel… their houses and schools have become their bunkers…

It’s a must watch film…

Beach and NID

I never sat on a beach,

but I have heard about it by

people who speak.

I’m making this rhyme

because I want to compare it

with National Institute of Design

Sea is beautiful, so as NID

Sea has tides and we carry pride.

One can lie and admire the sea

In NID also one can sit for days

without going to pee.

In the sea one can swim deep

in search of gems, here if you can take things seriously

knowledge is like some heap

If one has courage to swim  deeper

sea has precious stones to deliver.

For some people sea beaches are like treasures,

but for others they are picnic spots.

NID also has lots of potential,

But only if you can measure.

Color and Form

I will like to write about subtractive colour theory and ya!! I got to know that why dark colors seems to be warmer, actually colors like black and brown seems to be warm because the color of an object s the one which gets reflected by it, and the rest light waves get absorbed by its surface so as we all know that energy never is destroyed so these absorbed light waves produce heat and more absorbed waves more amount of heat.
OK…….one more thing!!! colors are always relative so the theory behind color contrast is also very interesting…the difference between light waves detected by the apparatus of the eyeball is called the color contrast between to colors the photo receptive field near the fovea are responsible for 4 kinds of visions

In the order for an object to be detected by he eye, a light wave must cross over; minimum 3 photo receptive cells. The color, size, shape, and motion of an object can’t be artificially separated, all 4 of these factors determine the color contrast there is no color on earth, all color seen by man is a result of light that is reflected off the surface of the object.

-a light color appears larger than a dark one on the identical background
-a light color appears lighter on a darker back ground than it does on a lighter back ground
-a grey tends to appear like the complementary of the background hue
-colors of similar hues-appears more like each others complementary hue when juxtaposed
-a color appears weakest in chrome when it placed against its strongest
color and it looks strongest when placed against its strongest colour of its
complementary hue.

Colour and Form

The failure of an assignment made my interest in colours and I will like to-share my
understanding of color with graphics people.
Let’s first talk about the assignment; the assignment was to make different colors looking same or same colors looking different playing with background and all.
I must say except gray, every color-discouraged me .I read some books over colors behavior and some basic things about colours so I came to know that colors have 3 essential qualities, hue, value and chroma.

HUE: hue is a family name for a group of chromatic colors or the quality by which
colors of equal luminosity and chroma may differ [the length o f ether waves
impacting on retina]

VALUE: the lightness of color

CHROMA: in general color intensity,
the quality of color by which we distinguish a strong color from a weak one

This theory is called the MUN-SELL SYSTEM OF HUE, VALUE AND CHROMA
